Keystone, Colorado is just seventy miles west of Denver, only minutes from I-70. The location of the village of Keystone is central to an array of indoor and outdoor activities throughout the year.  In the Winter and Spring, Keystone is in the middle of ski country!  Summit County, and the nearby area, offers 5 world class downhill ski resorts (Keystone, Araphahoe Basin, Loveland, Breckenridge, and Copper Mountain) all of which are within 10 to 20 minutes from the door of The House (The House is actually located inside Keystone Ski Resort and can be accessed by private shuttle that picks you up at the front door -- no waiting at icy shuttle stops or walking home in ski boots).

Cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails are everywhere and Keystone offers a wonderful Nordic facility. Snowmobiling, ice-fishing, sleighrides, and ice-skating are available within minutes of the House -- most within Keystone Village -- and the snowcapped peaks surrounding the village make it all magical!  /l/700/769_s.jpg

Later in the Spring, the wildflowers bloom in the high country. Trails for beginners or for the experienced are everywhere taking the hiker over 10,000 feet and higher (a true Rocky Mountain high). Local ski resorts offer gondola rides to the top of still snowcapped peaks and mountain bike enthusiasts can find rugged trails throughout Summit County.

Summer brings hikers, fisherman, golfers, mountainbikers, and boaters. Icy clear Lake Dillon (home of the highest marina in the world), surrounded by the gorgeous Ten Mile and Gore mountain ranges is the star attraction. Golf is splendid in the high country (a ball flies farther at this altitude) and The House at Keystone Ranch sits on the 12th tee of the world class Keystone Ranch Golf Course.  Make your tee times in advance and then enjoy the unbelievable experience of playing one of Colorado's finest courses.

Fall is a wonderful time in the mountains of Colorado. The aspens turn color and light up the mountains in shades of yellow and orange -- a perfect time for hiking, mountainbiking, and photography!

All yearround, the indoor sports of shopping, gambling, and dining are nearby. Keystone is a yearround village with fine and casual dining, shops, and activities for the entire family.  Nearby town, Dillon/Silverthorne is the home of over 40 factory outlets and the neighboring towns of Frisco and Breckenridge offer specialty shops with all sorts of mountain treasures. The historic gambling town of Central City nestles in a canyon a little over 45 minutes away and is packed with casinos, shops, and restaurants.  And dining is a special treat in Summit County!  Small microbreweries dot the towns and cuisine of every kind can be found within 10 minutes of The House.  /l/400/465_s.jpg

/i//tn_view1.jpg Within Keystone Resort, there are several fine and exciting restaurants ~ Keystone Ranch has its own five star restaurant less than one mile from The House.  At the top of Keystone Mountain, you can enjoy Der Fondue Chessel and The Alpenglowe Stube ~ both accessed by gondola making dinner more of an event than a meal.  But be careful, a glass of beer or wine goes alot further at this altitude.  Click here for a list of recommended local restaurants.

SHUTTLE SERVICE: There is door to door service from The House into the village of Keystone and back. The shuttle runs daily at 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 12:30, 3:00, 4:00, and 5:00.  After that, the shuttle is on an 'on call' basis.  Once you are in the village of Keystone, you may take the Summit Stage (free) anywhere in the county.

GROCERY/LIQUOR: The City Market is located in Dillon on HWY 6 about 8 miles from the resort. The quality is excellent and the prices are very reasonable for a resort grocery store. There is also a Blockbuster and pharmacy in the store and a liquor store next door. If your needs are limited, you may find what you are seeking at the small grocery/liquor stores across HWY 6 as you enter Keystone Resort. There is also a Post office there.

/i//tn_keystoneranchgate.jpg DIRECTIONS: From I-70 WEST: The first exit after the Eisenhower Tunnel is Exit 205/Dillon/Silverthorne. Go left at the light into Dillon. Travel through Dillon (notice the grocery store and Gart Sports on your left), past the Lake on your right. As you enter Keystone, take a right at the first light onto West Keystone Road.

After turning off the highway, immediately veer to the left and go .4 miles to Soda Ridge Road. Take a right on Soda Ridge Road (you'll see a sign pointing to Keystone Ranch).

Go .95 miles on Soda Ridge Road ~ you will run into the stables. Just before the stables, take a left on Keystone Ranch Road (there is no street sign). Keystone Ranch Road is a very windy road at this point. You'll feel that you are driving up up up!

Go 1.3 miles on Keystone Ranch Road to Keystone Ranch gatehouse. Go through the gate ~ immediately after the gate, veer right at the 'fork' and stay on Keystone Ranch Road (follow the sign to the Ranch House).

Go .35 miles on Keystone Ranch Road. Take a left at the street just before the row of mailboxes. If you keep going past the mailboxes, you'll end up at The Ranch. This is the clubhouse and the restaurant.

After the left, go .7 miles (the name of the road that you are on is still Keystone Ranch Road). The houses all have names. You will pass "Carey" and "Nix" and then Clover Lane ~ then you'll pass "Brent", "Cornell", "McFall", and "Beall" ........IMMEDIATELY after passing Beall, turn right on Gentian Road. The road is hidden so it's easier to look for "Beall" house rather than the road sign.

At this point, you will drop down to the golf course ~ you'll go around two sharp winding turns. Look for 203 Gentian on your right. The name on the house "KRESGE".
